“In 1932, my
great-grandfather, Salvatore Emmolo started a grapevine rootstock nursery in
Rutherford, CA. In 1934, he built a winery on his land in Rutherford, naming it
after his city of origin in Italy ‘Palermo’. In 1994, my mother Cheryl Emmolo
produced Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc wines from the family’s vineyard. Today,
I’m honored to continue on the family legacy of farming vines and making Emmolo
wine here in the original winery my great-grandfather built.” - Jenny Wagner
