Domaine de Ferrand may be one of the smaller producers in
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but winemaker Phillipe Bravay is crafting some of
the most soulful wines in the region, using organic practices and
vinifying with only native yeasts. His Cuvée Mistral is a blend of
mostly Grenache and Syrah from young vines across Châteauneuf. There is
a lovely medly of cassis, black olive and violets on the nose, while the
palate expresses silky tannins and notes of dark plum. It will pair
outstandingly with roasted chicken, meat stews or soft cheeses.
