Sixteen by Twenty
Wines are a separate
line of wines which owe their existence to our prestige label
"Black Cordon Vineyards." Having two separate label lines brings a
Synergy to both labels and each one is dramatically improved by the
relationship. Let me explain...
In order to produce our prestige label
wines, Black Cordon
Vineyards, we spare no expense. The vineyard care is
meticulous, the complex variety of French Oak barrels are the
finest, and the winemaking by Paul Hobbs is world class. Truly spectacular wines can be
made when this type of handcrafted artisan winemaking is employed,
and as you can imagine this attention to detail is both time
consuming and costly. It therefore follows that the wine produced
in this manner will have a higher price tag when it is finally
sold. Here is where the second label, Sixteen by Twenty benefits...
The 16x20 Wines are produced from certain barrels that we chose
not to include in the Black Cordon Vineyards bottlings. They are wines that have been
produced, vineyard to bottle, with the care and attention that
usually only goes into producing more expensive wines. That's why
we say that the 16x20 Wines are always better than what you'd expect for the
price. The Black Cordon
Vineyard wines also benefit because we are free to focus
on bottling only the very best barrels for this label, thus
cherry-picking each vintage to achieve a quality that is superior
to a random blend of what mother nature may have brought our way
that year. So that's the Synergy. This arrangement makes
16x20 Wines better than most wines in their price category,
and it allows BCV Wines to always be at the top of their game.
